Arrival after 3pm on May 1st

The first retreat of the year will be a gentle silent retreat celebrating the arrival of Spring at the Hermitage. Under the direction of our founder, Lama Rodney Devenish, this retreat will outline a heart-based approach to meditation, in which regular practice leads one progressively toward inner peace, self-compassion, and love. In addition Medical science today demonstrates that techniques focused on developing and sustaining positive emotions and mental attitudes amidst the often stressful conditions of normal life lay a foundation for greater physical as well as emotional well being.  This retreat is suitable for everyone and includes private time with Lama developing ones practice.

Improved life conditions, a clearer mind, greater overall happiness and improved physical well-being come from the development of a regular meditation practice that uses meditation as a means of cultivating positive emotions and peace. Lama Rodney explains that meditation need not be approached as a boring obligation, or a struggle.  Instead, he says, meditation can be simple, joyful, and be accessible anywhere as a part of life, bringing greater ease to body and soul.
