Opening the Body For Stillness
Find more comfort in your seated meditation practice by addressing and unlocking tension and awakening the physical body. Feel more balanced during moving meditation by learning to connect with the foundation of the feet and the strength of the core. This yoga meditation retreat will guide you deeper into your practice by introducing you to more ease and openness in the body, working with specialized movement sequences of subtle, gentle stretches and restorative postures.
Lise Duncan draws on her twenty years of experience as a therapeutic yoga and bodywork practitioner and health and wellness coach to create a safe and effective method of mindfully connecting with and experiencing the physical body. By learning to observe, explore, and release surface tensions, we can find more comfort in our seated meditation practices. Recruiting core muscles and awakening the energy of the spine improves our posture and stability for both sitting and moving. Daily lessons, including journaling and body-mapping exercises, focus on different areas of the body with gentle movement sequences, seated and walking meditation. This retreat is suitable for all bodies and is an excellent compliment to new and experienced meditation practices.
